Steve Leichtman is a seasoned Executive Coach and Leadership Development professional. For over thirty years Steve has helped leaders and companies achieve business results through building individual and organizational effectiveness. Because Steve has been a member of executive teams responsible for creating and executing strategy during turbulent times, his coaching is reality-based (through significant use of quantitative and qualitative assessments) and business-driven.

Steve coaching work has spanned many industries, functions and levels. He has particularly deep and broad experience coaching executives in Financial Services and Healthcare, and with leaders in Operations, Technology, Finance and Sales/Marketing. Steve has coached many C-Suite executives (including those with CEO, COO, CFO, CTO and CIO titles), and has a strong background in enabling functional heads to become enterprise leaders.

Steve serves as an executive coach in Harvard Business School’s prestigious Advanced Management Program, as well as in many other of HBS’ executive education courses. He has also been selected into the Network of Senior International Leadership Coaches for The Foundation for International Leadership Coaching. For several years he has been chosen to serve as an executive coach at The Global Institute for Leadership Development (Linkage, Inc.). Due to the innovative and successful results of Steve’s coaching, his approach has been profiled in the books “The Coaching Organization” (James M. Hunt), and “Creativity, Inc.” (Jeff Mauzy). He is certified in a wide variety of leadership, competency and team effectiveness instruments and is a member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum.


  • Steve holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, where he concentrated in Marketing and International Management.
  • Steve’s undergraduate degree is from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business (magna cum laude), where he majored in Labor Relations and Political Science.
  • Steve is certified in numerous coaching and assessment tools, including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Leadership Versatility Index, Personal Resilience Profile, Conflict Dynamics Profile, and Five Dysfunctions of a Team. Applications of these instruments often play a key role in his coaching process
