SGI PROVIDES PRO BONO COACHING FOR SCHOOL THE WORLD CEO

Chicago, IL — October 10, 2017 — Sloan Group International (SGI) is offering pro bono coaching to the CEO of School the World, a nonprofit charity that provides basic educational resources to poor children in Central America. SGI is providing coaching to CEO Kate Curran to support her efforts in bringing a higher profile to the organization.

With a vision founded in gratitude, Kate Curran, founded School the World in 2009.
“Our goal is to provide access for quality education to those living in the rural villages of Central America. Together with local governments, our partners and deeply engaged parents, provide young children living in the poorest communities the opportunity to learn so that they can work towards a brighter future”, Curran said.

School the World requires the parents to participate in parent education programs; even their supply chain of books and supplies depend on partial parental contribution. It is through these efforts that School the World has been creating lasting change. Their goal is to expand to other developing countries and replicate the model of success they have witnessed in the last 6 years to bring about change through education.

Kate began looking for someone to help her get comfortable with being the face of the organization, and get her out of her comfort zone to promote the strengths and successes of School the World. Ultimately, the goal was to develop a plan to raise her profile and bring a higher profile to the organization. And that is where SGI stepped in to help.

The call went out amongst the SGI coaching network, and the response was overwhelming. Sloan Group CEO Karlin Sloan said, “So many of our coaches and consultants do this work because they want to give back and help leaders make a difference. I’m thrilled that we can use our consulting and coaching network to assist amazing non-profits like School the World.”

“I was overwhelmed by the generosity and talent of the Sloan Group coaches who stepped forward to help us. I had the chance to interview several coaches to find the best fit. Together we are now working on both the opportunities and the roadblocks related to taking School the World to the next level, and I am really excited about our prospects,” Curran said.
