Orla Castanien is an executive coach and leadership consultant who is passionate about empowering current and future leaders to achieve their full potential in complex and constantly shifting environments. More than 20 years of leadership experience in finance, business and strategy have given Ms. Castanien a keen awareness of the challenges and concerns facing senior leaders. That perspective has led to a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to executive development that emphasizes strategic leadership at all levels of the organization.

Ms. Castanien has partnered with both individual leaders and client organizations to provide executive coaching, team facilitation, and leadership development programs.  She has become a trusted coach and thought partner to C-suite executives facing career, leadership and organizational challenges.  Ms. Castanien is a skilled facilitator, working with executive teams to achieve team alignment, resolve conflict, and successfully lead organizations through change.  Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to high-growth start-ups and span industries including retail, technology, energy, finance and professional services.

Prior to moving to the United States, Ms. Castanien received her consulting training at Deloitte and went on to hold leadership positions in finance, strategic planning and non-profit administration both in Ireland and the U.S., including serving as Chief Financial Officer for Unicare Pharmacy Group, Ireland’s first national pharmacy chain. Since leaving Ireland, she has provided strategic consulting services to U.S. business leaders and to Irish government bodies promoting Irish companies in the U.S., before becoming a full-time executive coach and leadership consultant in 2009.

Ms. Castanien completed her undergraduate studies in Commerce at the National University of Ireland (Galway) and earned her Master’s in Accountancy from University College Dublin. She is a graduate of the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.  She is also a member of the International Coaching Federation.
