STORY:

In my career I had the opportunity to see the inner workings of hundreds of corporations. I saw lots of suffering – and experienced it myself - some of it organizationally generated and some of it self-generated. I do what I do because I love helping people grow, develop and gain increased awareness that can help them operate more effectively within their organizational environments. I love making a positive difference in people’s lives and in the organizations they work in.

COACHING APPROACH:

I was trained as a coach at New Ventures West in San Francisco, CA. Having a strong business background, I chose New Ventures West because of their non-linear, integral coaching methodology. The integral method includes the whole person in the coaching, their mental state, their emotional state, their physical state and their social state. All of these factors are brought into the coaching to provide maximum effectiveness in allowing growth and change.

Over the years I have incorporated many other methodologies many of which I learned while involved with coaching hundreds of people through the Personal Excellence Program at Genentech and Salesforce.com. These programs focused on a Head, Heart, Body model of guiding people to select the most important growth area for them as not only business people, but as human beings. What would provide the most growth and development? Through this program I learned to vastly simplify my approach to coaching and to "get to the essentials" much faster with higher impact.

I have found that many coaching situations present themselves at the "applications layer" (i.e. being a better listener), when focusing on the human "operating system" (emotional intelligence) can have a much larger and long-lasting impact.

BUSINESS BACKGROUND:

I has over twenty years of leadership experience and have held executive-level positions in Sales, Marketing and Business Development. My career has taken me from large corporations like Xerox and Silicon Graphics to smaller, entrepreneurial start-ups like Netscape and CommerceOne. I had the opportunity during my career to work with hundreds of large to mid-sized companies and learned first-hand how get results within various cultures and political situations.
