Financial services and health care is the greatest concentration but I've worked in sports and entertainment, telecommunications, legal, accounting, non-profits, government.
Specialize in executive speech/communications. Presenting with influence, simplifying complexity, executive presence, clarity, speaking in soudbites, speaking to the media, crafting a presentation, getting to the point, preparing for high stakes presentations, running effective meetings.
From a military family, went to 8 elementary schools, lived in Germany twice, gained a love of foreign cultures and learned to be adaptable. As a Speech Pathologist trained at Columbia University I understand how people learn and the impact of the spoken word. I've been laid off twice. I also delivered outplacement training. I'm a Certified Speaking Professional (22% nationwide hold this designation), spoke on 4 continents, was featured on CNN and the author of Knockout Presentations, an amazon best seller.
My focus is the science of speaking: What confidence looks like, sounds like, and how to speak the language of confidence. I use video continuously with the goal of training the client to be his/her own coach. Coaching is pragmatic rather than theoretical.
As a Speech Pathologist I was asked to head up a speech center in my district. I also started a part time private practice. I worked for Executive Technique delivering presentation skills seminars to corporations and was promoted to senior associate with supervisory experience. At Salomon Brothers I was responsible for management training and as AVP at Drexel Burnham's Institutional Sales and Trading Training program, I recruited MBAs from top colleges and supervised the training program.
