David Spungin

David is a Corporate Trainer, Executive Coach, and Professional Speaker focused on transforming managers into high performing leaders. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he earned his degree in Leadership Development and led combat soldiers in the U.S. Army for nearly a decade. Most notably, he deployed in 2003 while in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Following military service, David established himself as an exceptional business development professional while working for a multi-billion dollar construction company. Applying his military leadership experience, he grew his business unit to nearly $400 million, setting a new company sales record. David next joined a mid-sized consulting firm and successfully directed project teams delivering professional services to agencies of the Federal government. Ultimately, his passion for building effective leaders and teams inspired him to pursue a career as a leader development professional.

After multiple years of initially consulting in a boutique leader development firm, David founded The Leader Growth Group in order to develop self-aware leaders who inspire more engaged workplaces. He has since coached leaders in Fortune 500 companies to include Google, Schlumberger, Accenture, Harris Corporation, and Facebook. David’s coaching style is what he describes as “brutal compassion.” He strives to push his clients beyond their comfort zone while simultaneously providing a supporting and trusting environment in order to take the risks needed to grow. He tends to work best with executives who are analytical, value directness, and who demand practicality from their coaching experience. David specializes in helping leaders to develop an executive presence and adopt a Servant Leadership approach that inspires others.
